This is a workshop format, not a webinar. 

This is a different kind of offering for PSR Advanced Practice. Instead of a webinar, this is going to be a 4-series workshop. This is a closed-session workshop. Once we have reached capacity, that is all the participants we are able to take. We will not be sharing recordings of this series on our YouTube page, or our website. 

You are encouraged to sign in on a device that has a camera and microphone. You can feel free to mute yourself and turn off your camera when you want to, but there will also be opportunity to get involved in group dialogues. We will be using the Zoom meeting platform, so you may have to download a small program (if you are using a computer), or an app (if you are using a mobile device). 

This is a workshop for you. It's all about your own self-care. We are in the midst of some really tough times, and you are doing some important and challenging work. We wanted to support you with this opportunity to take some time to refresh.

Consider signing into this workshop from a location where you feel comfortable and have a little space to move. If you are able to sign in from home, that's amazing. 

(At this point we do not know if the sessions will be recorded for participants who can't make it, but we do know that the sessions will not be shared with the public.)

Workshop Description:

This 4-Part virtual series is for those interested in exploring the foundations of mindfulness as a basis for enhancing a deeper sense of well-being within the current times we are in. Each class will include guided meditation practice as well as instruction on how to practice mindful meditation in daily life by certified mindfulness meditation teacher, Brandi Matheson.

 

Objectives / Format :

Each session will consists of:

  • Experiential; learn the practice of mindfulness meditation as a basis for supporting well-being
  • Intellectual; learn "The Four Foundations of Mindfulness" and how they can create a stable footing especially in uncertain times
  • Integrational; learn how to incorporate these foundations into daily life.

 

BIO:

Brandi Matheson, certified Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Teacher, UMASS/UCSD, Centre for Mindfulness, 300 RYT/Trauma Informed Yoga Teacher and certified Mental Health Worker. Brandi has been working in the mental health field since 2003, and offering mindfulness-based practices to support mental, emotional, physical well-being since 2011. Brandi is a dedicated student of the practice and continues to deepen her own practice through regularly engaging in intensive meditation retreats and in mentorship with senior teachers. Brandi completed advanced training in MBSR through UCSD, Centre for Mindfulness, in September 2020. Prior to her work MBSR, Brandi managed a clubhouse within the Fraser Health region for several years.
